Thanks to everyone for all of your entries! Texoma obviously has an eye for beauty, and you proved it to us this summer! We are pleased to announce that all entries are in, and that we will announce the grand prize winner in the coming days. KXII photographers will judge the entries this week, and we'll post more info on this page as it becomes available. Who knows? The winning photo just might be featured on First News. Again, thanks to all who participated, and congratulations on a job well done, Texoma!!!
How does it work?
Welcome to Eye on Texoma: Lake Takes, a summer photo contest for the people of Texoma to show off their handy work with a camera. Here how it works- submit your favorite photos you take at the lake all summer long! We'll have weekly winners (1st, 2nd and 3rd place) as voted by users each week. Then a grand prize winner will be picked by KXII Staff for a weekend getaway at Tanglewood Resort on Lake Texoma!
Can I still play if the contest has already started?
Yes. The contest will run from Memorial Day to Labor Day, with a chance to submit new photos each week.
What are the rules regarding multiple entries and voting?
You can submit as many photos as you would like, but keep in mind if you submit 4 photos in one week, you're creating competition for your best work. Also, we're only taking one (1) photo per user for the finals, so if you win more than one week, you can pick what you feel is your best work and only that pic will be considered by the judges. The weekly winners are voted on by the users, but staffers will be selecting from all photos that have placed (1st, 2nd, or 3rd place) for the finals. Just because you didn't win the user voting a certain week doesn't mean you can't win the grand prize. Also, each judge will be a KXII-TV photographer and will get to pick one photo each from ALL the entries that will be added to the finalists, so even if your photo doesn't receive a vote, it can still win the grand prize!
The staff apologizes for the late notice on these changes, but we feel like we needed to address some issues.
*Please take into consideration that this is a lake photo contest. To be considered for the grand prize, a lake must be in the photograph.
